Long Tale Café
Location: Osadní 35, Prague 7 (New Factory Complex M)
Hours: Mon – Fri 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., Sat – Sun closed
Price Range: 30 – 60 Kč
Website: www.longtalecafe.cz
Let’s face it – Holešovice is not the liveliest place, outside of Osadní shenanigans and smoke-outs at Cross Club. It is gray and quiet. Sometimes, it seems Stalin never left Prague 7. And yet, situated right within the Osadní courtyard lies a splendid gem for cappuccino enthusiasts alike: Long Tale Café.
A café by day, and occasional art gallery by night, Long Tale offers a bourgeois bohemian vibe that fits in perfectly with NYU eco-chicdom. The layout of the place is incredibly inviting, complete with an upstairs loft that peers over the bar. Photographs line the walls featuring a chosen artist of the month. A bookcase stands across from comfy, leather couches and Wi-Fi makes it impossible to leave.
The drink selections rival some of the best cafés in Prague. From Parma ham paninis to mozzarella baguettes, Long Tale understands what it means to value fresh food. The staff is always personable and speaks English. It seems the only downside here is the ridiculously limited hours.
Some say Long Tale is the only café worth visiting in Holešovice. We’re not arguing.
What to order:
1. Potato soup with dried mushrooms (45 Kč)
2. Hot chocolate with chili (50 Kč) or Masala chai (50 Kč)
3. Tabouleh, couscous, parsley and tomato salad (55 Kč)
