Molo 22
Location: U průhonu 466/22, Prague 7 – Holešovice
Hours: 8:00am-11:00pm
Price Range: 50-350 Kč
Website: www.molo22.cz
Despite Molo 22’s out-of-the-way location, it makes up for that 15-minute tram ride with its wide-ranging menu and large portions. Osadní folk have it easy, seeing as it’s right around the corner. But for everyone else, it’s another reason to explore infamous Holešovice in all its grimy glory.
The lime-green paneling and modern décor seem out of place in the time-forgotten territory known as Praha 7. But once inside, the outer realm becomes insignificant. Molo offers everything from Caprese salads to spicy chicken wings, though by far the dish to order is the Thai Fried Noodles. The kitchen blends curry with chicken and vegetables and tosses in noodles with
a hint of sesame and Thai sauce for only 146 Kč.
Like everywhere in Prague, Molo also serves traditional Czech food. But when your belly can’t hold any more dumplings, the grilled chicken breast is both healthy and savory. It’s served with a side of lasagna so you certainly won’t go hungry or broke during this meal for a mere 163 Kč.
While Molo has many upsides, its utter downfall is the poor service. Waiters don’t approach your table with a menu until 20 minutes after you sit down, and the wait for food seems to last a lifetime. The staff has a reputation for being rude, but the occasional nice server does exist at Molo. During warm-weather months, an elaborate outdoor seating area can accommodate either the diner or coffee drinker, so bring your homework with you and camp out for a while under the umbrellas.
Molo 22 is an ideal place to bring your parents, especially if you dwell in Osadní and are planning to give them an untraditional tour of Prague’s outskirts. Hop on the 5 or 12 tram and check out Molo for yourself.
