Chapeau Rouge
Location: Jakubská 2, Praha 1

Best Night to Go: Tuesday
There is a red and blue tint from the lights in Chapeau Rouge. Whether or not they insinuate the politics of anything, we know illicitly blissful affairs are amidst. For this bar/club is notorious for providing us with weed, too much absinthe and a hell of a good time.
Its location is prime. Quite close to Old Town Square, Chapeau Rouge has been a Prague favorite since 1919. We love it for the most part. It offers a vibe for whatever mood you’re in that night. If you prefer electronic music, there’s always a DJ downstairs that breaks the house down. The top floor is much more about socializing over Pilsner Urquells during the week. On a good night, though, Chapeau Rouge gets packed and finding a seat at one of the 10 or so tables is unlikely.
Chapeau Rouge gets its certain appeal from a saloon-meets-cabaret setup. Dark, mahogany bar stools and vanity lights line the bar. Music blasts and the crowd is varied — expats, Czechs, students, dealers. There is also a kind of confidence in the way the bar just sits at the street corner, waiting to be inhabited by all types of party-goers.
We recommend Chapeau Rouge as a pre- or post-game. Come early and relax with a few friends. Or stumble in late with people you met at the Dubliner. Whatever the hour, or your blessed objective, Chapeau Rouge gets it. It gets you.
Average Prices: Beer – 40 Kč, Cocktails – 100 Kč
